Terms of Service

These terms of service ("the terms") apply to your use of Earnie ("the app", "the service"). By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Earnie is a family app where parents create chores that children complete to earn XP (experience points). XP can be saved or used for rewards within the app. XP has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money.

2. Accounts and responsibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account.
• Child accounts are created by a parent. The parent is responsible for the child's use of the app and provides consent on the child's behalf.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• An account is personal and may not be shared with anyone outside the family.

3. Subscriptions and payment

• Earnie offers a free version and a premium version.
• Premium subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. Apple's terms for purchases and subscriptions apply.
• Prices are displayed in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

4. Use of the service

You agree to:

• Use the app in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
• Not attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the service.
• Not use the app for illegal purposes.
• Not upload offensive, illegal, or inappropriate material as avatar images.

5. Intellectual property

All content in the app — including design, illustrations, text, logos, and the Earnie trademark — belongs to us. You may not copy, distribute, or use the material outside the app without written permission.

6. Availability and changes

• We strive to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
• We may update, modify, or discontinue features in the app without prior notice.
• For significant changes to these terms, we will notify you in the app or by email.

7. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete account in the app.
• We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
• Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed in accordance with our privacy policy.

8. Limitation of liability

• The app is provided as is. We are not liable for any losses, damages, or interruptions arising from use of the service.
• XP and rewards within the app have no real monetary value.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall first be resolved through dialogue. If that is not possible, the dispute shall be settled by a Swedish court.
